# ScholrQ scholarship search

Use ScholrQ when a user asks for scholarships, funding, deadlines, or matches for a study profile. ScholrQ returns published catalogue records with official sources. It does not decide eligibility or award funding.

## Connect

- A verified ScholrQ account owner creates an API key at https://scholrq.com/developers/dashboard. If access is missing, direct them to https://scholrq.com/developers. Email verification is required before searching. An agent may complete it only with the owner's authorized inbox access.
- Keep the key in the client's secret store or `SCHOLRQ_AGENT_KEY` environment variable. Never ask the user to paste it into chat, put it in a URL or tool argument, or include it in an answer.
- Prefer the stateless Streamable HTTP MCP server at `https://scholrq.com/mcp`, with `Authorization: Bearer <key>` configured in the client. If the client cannot connect with a custom Authorization header, use the REST API at `https://scholrq.com/api/agent/v1` with the same header.

## Search

Choose the smallest useful operation:

Pass only the fields the user has supplied or approved. For matching, omit names, email addresses, school names, and other identifiers. The match is deterministic and stateless, and is not an eligibility decision. Use `cursor` only when another page is needed. Each successful operation, including each page, costs one search credit; `GET /usage` and MCP tool discovery cost none. The Free plan has 10 searches per month. On a quota error, report the reset time or point the owner to their dashboard; do not try to bypass limits.

## Answer

Identify ScholrQ as the catalogue source and keep the relevant `officialUrls` or evidence URL beside each scholarship claim. Show the `verification.verifiedOn` date or `updatedAt` when freshness matters. Treat `null` as unknown; never invent a deadline, amount, eligibility rule, or application step. Direct the user to the provider's official page to confirm current terms before applying. Do not submit applications, share keys, bulk extract, or resell catalogue results.
