What you share and why
You can browse scholarships without an account. Accounts and profile entry are for people aged 18 or older. ScholrQ uses your profile answers to help you compare scholarships and keep track of your study plans.
You can skip profile questions. Your answers may include a preferred name, age band, school, gender, citizenship, residence, grades, subject, destination, intake, language qualifications, study budget and currency, financial need, and activities. We do not ask for your date of birth or require passports, transcripts, bank records, or other document uploads. Details that our matching rules do not assess are identified as “Not assessed”; a match does not confirm eligibility.
Guest profiles and browser storage
Your unfinished profile is saved in this browser. When you select “Find my matches,” your answers and results are saved in ScholrQ’s database. Saved scholarships are also stored there. A guest-session cookie connects this information to the current ScholrQ session in this browser.
The guest session expires after 30 days. Its profiles, results, and saved scholarships are removed when session cleanup next runs. Your local draft does not expire with the cookie; it remains until you delete it or clear the browser’s site data.
Verified accounts and importing guest data
If you create an account, ScholrQ verifies your email with a 30-minute activation link before you can sign in. Resend processes your email address and the message to deliver activation, password-reset, and account notices. These messages are separate from promotional email.
Your account connects profiles, match history, and saved scholarships across devices. Editing a profile keeps earlier snapshots with their match history. Signing in does not automatically import a browser’s guest data: you choose whether to import it and whether to replace your current account profile. Imported records are no longer subject to guest-session cleanup.
Account sessions last up to 30 days. Use “Sign out everywhere” to revoke them. Signing out clears account-related profile and match storage in that browser; it does not clear storage on other devices.
Account retention, export, and deletion
Unactivated accounts are removed after seven days. Activated accounts become due for deletion after 12 months of inactivity. Our daily retention job sends a warning after 11 months. Sign in again to keep your account. If a warning is delayed, we allow at least one calendar month after sending it before deletion. An unsuccessful warning send does not start that notice period.
From your account page, you can download your profile, saved-scholarship, match-history, and email-preference data, or delete your account. Deletion requires a recent sign-in and removes the account and its associated records from the active application database.
For guest information, use “Delete my data” on the profile page to remove the current guest session’s profiles, results, saved scholarships, and local draft. This does not delete another browser’s guest records or your account. Protected recovery backups may retain older copies; the website does not automatically remove individual records from existing backups. Email correspondence and previous newsletter signups are handled separately. Contact us for help with those records, access, or corrections.
Agent access and billing
A verified account can use the Free agent plan. ScholrQ creates the account’s Free allowance after email verification or the next sign-in, but it does not create an API key until you request one. For each key, we store a label, short prefix, one-way hash, creation time, last-use time, and revocation status. We show the full key only when it is created.
Agent searches use a monthly allowance. We record request IDs, operations, response status, credits used, and latency to enforce limits and monitor the service. We do not store the student details submitted to the stateless agent matching endpoint or log API request bodies. Detailed usage events are removed after 90 days; monthly quota totals remain. For paid plans, Stripe handles payment details and ScholrQ stores billing identifiers, plan status, and subscription dates. Contact team@ScholrQ.com if you need an export of your agent account data.
Optional promotional email
The separate, unchecked choice is: “Email me scholarship updates and relevant study offers from ScholrQ.” We record your choice, its wording and version, and when you make or withdraw it. You can change it in your account or use a signed unsubscribe link. Declining does not prevent sign-in or essential account notices.
Promotional campaigns and automated scholarship alerts are not currently running. Future relevant offers will use study interests and destinations, rather than gender, grades, financial need, or exact school. Advertising measurement has a separate cookie choice; creating an account or opting into email does not enable it.
Email contact and previous signups
When you email ScholrQ, your address and the information you include are handled separately from your website profile. Share only what is needed for your question; do not send sensitive documents in an initial inquiry.
If you previously submitted an email signup, creating or deleting an account does not subscribe you again or remove that earlier record. Contact us to request its removal. Correspondence and previous signup records do not follow the website’s guest or account expiry periods.
Hosting and other websites
ScholrQ runs on a hosted server. Hosting and email services process information needed to operate the website and deliver messages. Server logs may contain IP addresses, requested pages, and request times. Google Ads measurement is optional, as described below.
Scholarship and application links take you to providers’ websites, which have their own privacy practices. ScholrQ does not submit your profile to a provider through its matching or saving features.
Google Ads and your cookie choice
We use Google Ads to advertise ScholrQ. The Google tag loads on each page with ad storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage denied by default. With denied consent, Google may receive limited cookieless measurement signals. If you choose “Allow ad measurement,” Google Ads can use advertising cookies and receive technical information about your visit and ad interaction to measure campaign results. Ad personalization and analytics storage remain disabled. We do not include your profile answers, email address, or grades in advertising events.
You can reject optional cookies or change your choice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Withdrawing permission returns future advertising measurement to denied consent; previously collected information is not automatically erased. This choice is separate from promotional email preferences and essential account or guest cookies. Learn how Google uses information from sites using its services.
